Shoppers Village Goes Marketing with HLD

4.2.2009 - Shoppers Village, the once wildly popular vendors market in West Hempstead, has selected HLD as its marketing and public relations agency of record for its return to the Long Island landscape this summer. HLD will deliver a full range of integrated services to the account, including advertising, marketing and public relations.

The reincarnated Shoppers Village of West Hempstead will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting in June. With 350 sales compartments on a two-story 125,000-square foot selling floor, Shoppers Village will accommodate approximately 175 vendors/businesses employing nearly 300 people. Shoppers Village opened its doors for the first time in 1981. In anticipation of the return of the shopping mecca, over 2,800 Shoppers Village followers reconnected to create a Facebook fan page full of reminiscences and testimonials where membership is steadily climbing as the news spreads. Fans are swapping stories about great bargains and favorite vendors that filled the floors of Shoppers Village and will do so once again.

“Shoppers Village is set to bring both bargains and jobs to local residents in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties and that is what this economy needs right now,” said Roy DiMarco, CEO of HLD. “Our campaign will help put Shoppers Village back on the map.”
